Lata Mangeshkar’s sister unveils her book on melody queen

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, on Sunday, unveiled the Hindi translation of a memoir penned by her sister, singer Meena Mangeshkar Khadikar. The book named 'Didi Aur Main' is a translation of ‘Mothi Tichi Saavli’, that chronicles the struggles of Mangeshkar, who turned 90 on Saturday.
"The book ('Didi aur Main') is my gift to Didi on her 90th birthday. I have tried my best to coalesce into this book the bitter-sweet memories of the Mangeshkar family," Meena said in a statement.
     The book also includes candid pictures of the Bharat Ratna recipient who actively contributed to the golden era of Hindi film industry. Its foreword has been penned by actor Amitabh Bachchan. The Hindi translation was done by writer-journalist Ambarish Mishra.
